Summer Job Opportunities


Recreation Attendant


Assists coordination of summer recreation programs including softball, beach volleyball and Walk Michigan.  Assist Recreation office staff with clerical duties and field set-up as needed.  Examples of work include: preparing game cards, score cards, and publishing league standings.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications - Computer skills
Customer service and communication skills
General office skills
Basic knowledge of softball and beach volleyball rules preferred


Sunday thru Thursday 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm (maybe some weekends to help with bigger tournaments)


Additional Information

Pay rate: $8.90 to $10.40 per hour.

Ball Diamond Crew (Seasonal Laborer)


Performs a variety of general labor duties.  Examples of duties include: grounds work, mowing, equipment operation and maintenance, weed control, fertilization and irrigation, light maintenance, painting, cleaning, trash pickup, raking and shoveling. Work is often physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting and exposure to the elements.

Some positions may start as early as April and the duration is dependent on departmental needs.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications - Must be 18 years of age or older to drive City vehicles and/or operate power equipment.
Able to handle physically demanding work on a daily basis
Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Must pass a physical, drug screen and criminal background check.


3 different shifts to fill:

Shift 1: Tuesday thru Saturday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

Shift 2: Sunday thru Thursday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

​Shift 3: Friday thru Monday 7 am - 5 pm


Additional Information

Pay Rate: $8.90 to $10.40 per hour
